An Equine Aid founder had known and respected Santos for many years. When his owner was no longer able to care for him we stepped up to provide sanctuary for this kind, 26 year old Arabian gelding. He is certainly the gentleman of the herd. He was actively used as a trail horse most of his life. In spite of an arthritic knee, he is active and bright. A volunteer took a shine to him soon after arrival in 2013. She fusses over him every week. His former owner also visits him often.
Santos has filled a void in the life of our sanctuary resident, LittleBig. He took over as a gentle companion when LittleBig’s best friend, Dublin, passed away. LittleBig has very limited vision; he was left disoriented and depressed. Santos provided him a gentle and calm presence. The boys will live out their lives here safe and loved.
